GO BIG WITH LARGE FORMAT TILES

If you remember our chat with Jillian from Decovita, then you probably remember us putting an emphasis on large format tiles (LFT). Large format tiles are tiles greater than a 12” x 12”, and they seem to be making waves in the design industry. Large format tiles make for a seamless design with less grout grouts, making them more attractive.

Manufacturers are meeting the popular demand and providing them to big box retailers and smaller local showrooms. The most common LFT to find at your local tile retailer is 12” x 24”. Other common LFT sizes include 18” X 18”, 24” X 36”, and 24” x 48. Some big box retailers that offer LFTs are The Tile Shop and Floor & Décor. The most popular look seems to be the faux marble, which is porcelain. Porcelain is a great option with making selections for your floors and shower.  It’s a strong material, that can outlive your house and doesn’t require a sealer like the natural stones.

Large-format tile are tiles greater than 12” x 12” in width. They can be square or rectangular.
