easy home diy projects

With so much uncertainty in the real estate market, and a potential recession, everyone is looking to save money. I think if we’ve learned in anything from the 2020 pandemic, we learned to stay at home. We truly learned the meaning of creating a home life, you don’t need a vacation from. And since I love home, I know there is always room for improvement. Do it Yourself (DIY) projects allow you to improve home while saving money. Here are few simple DIY projects that you can complete over the weekend, while improving your home aesthetics.

1.Paint an Accent Wall- This is a simple project you can complete over the weekend. Add a bold color to one wall to create interest and a focal point. If you’re into blacks or charcoals, this could give your space a moody vibe. Layer the look with artwork, and you’ve have that designer look in no time.

2.Change a Light Fixture- This one may be tough if you don’t know much about electrical, but if you have a handy man in your family go for it. Changing out the old light fixtures in your home can make a significant difference in the style of your home. Shop online vendors and your local hardware store for lighting styles.

3.Hang Some Drapes- If you haven’t hung drapes in your home already, spend your weekend installing floor to ceiling drapes in your living room or master bedroom. If you’ve hung them already, consider changing your drapes to a different color or print. Adding drapery will always polish the look of your home.

You could also change out your finials or spray paint your old rods if they don’t match the rest of your metal finishes at home. I love a consistent flow of metals, from your doorknobs to light fixtures, and drapery rods.

4.Change out Your Kitchen Cabinet Pulls- If you have knobs, consider going to a handle. If you have pulls already, you’ll just need to measure the distance between the holes of the pull. You can pick up knobs from your local hardware store or shop for them online.

5.Hang Some Wallpaper- Wallpaper and textured walls can easily elevate a space. While the peel and stick wallpaper may be attractive, I’ve found it to be one of the most difficult to hang. Like all diy projects you’ll want to do your research first. I love to see wallpaper in the dining room, powder room, and master bedroom. It’s so beautiful.
