THE FALL SWITCH UP
Pillow covers are perfect, because they allow you to change your look from season to season. I purchase down feather pillow inserts, so I can have flexibility with my color scheme throughout the year. Pillow covers are also easier to store and wash. They don’t take up much space. A quick tip though, always buy your inserts 1 or 2 sizes bigger than your pillow cover for a fuller look.
The New Aesthetic in Cabinetry
The most popular cabinet door styles right now are The Shaker, European Slab, and Glass. The shaker style is the most common because its simplicity, offers both a traditional, modern, and farmhouse design. It seems to appeal to most people. The European Slab Door became popular post-World War II, and has currently been making a comeback because of the sleek, clean, and simple design it offers.
CHOOSING THE RIGHT TILE
If you know me and you’ve been following for a while, then you know tile is one of my favorite materials to work with. It’s kind of because I worked in a Tile Kitchen and Bath Showroom for a couple of years on my design journey. There are so many options and combinations. To this day, there are still tiles I cannot wait to work with.
DESIGNING YOUR LIVING ROOM
When I’m asked for a quick tip on decorating, I always suggest focusing on one room at a time. This will allow you to put your all in into one room and get it right the first time. Since the living room can set the tone for the rest of the house, most of my clients prefer to start with this room. The living room is technically the most important room in the house, and the other rooms can be seen as revolving around the living room.

80’s Babies
So if you haven’t noticed yet….you will…. the 80’s are back, but in a major way. It’s no surprise that some of these are my favorites, since I’m actually an 80’s baby myself. So many style influences are coming right back into 2021, especially in home furnishings. One example being sofas.
DESIGNER PICKS FOR PAINT
While I had my reservations about about creating this post, I decided to be generous. Over the years I’ve learned which paints work best for different areas and how to make a home flow together well. There are so many factors that contribute to a cohesive space, including square footage and lighting. And there’s ultimately the feeling you are hoping to achieve while in the space that counts most.
GO BIG WITH LARGE FORMAT TILES
If you remember our chat with Jillian from Decovita, then you probably remember us putting an emphasis on large format tiles (LFT). Large format tiles are tiles greater than a 12” x 12”, and they seem to be making waves in the design industry. Large format tiles make for a seamless design with less grout grouts, making them more attractive.
YOUR RECIPE FOR GIRLS NIGHT IN
As things are slowly returning to normal after COVID- 19, we can’t help but miss our friends. We’ve come up with a solution though. Girls Night In. Catch up on much needed girl time with a delightful cocktail and diet friendly snack board. You'll be reminiscing and laughing all night long.
CHOOSING THE RIGHT WINDOW TREATMENTS
Choosing the right window treatments can sometimes be confusing. Some people avoid putting them up all together because they are unsure of how to install the rods or shades properly. However, once installed curtains, blinds, and window shades can provide your space with an interchangeable design for years to come.
SPRUCING UP FOR SPRING
Yay! Spring is here and I am so thrilled. I’m loving the warmer temperatures, but my curb appeal needs a little more love. I’m planning to add a few ferns, some mulch, and update my patio furniture. While I’m making my list, I thought it would be the perfect time to share a few tips with you all too. So here goes…..

WHY HIRE AN INTERIOR DESIGNER?
There are so many decisions to make especially in the “New Build” process. Designers are trained on form and function. They can determine if a sofa is too small or too large for a space. They can guide you through paint colors while considering how much natural lighting you have in a space.
